I, for one, would not mind a totally different LEGO train system. My biggest
issue with the current one is that it's just too darned big to put a
fairly complex layout in a normal person's house.
With the number of 4-stud trucks I've been producing lately, I'd really
like to see HO scaled locos (DCC would be nice). Then the trucks, cranes,
buildings, etc would be easier to build with fewer bricks.
There's another benefit to going with HO - there are a lot of parts ready
to OEM into a system. Track, controllers, DCC, motors, wheelsets, etc are
all available.
Finally the cost of the system would be lower. You need fewer bricks and parts
to make a decent looking layout, and that translates to a lower retail price...
More thoughts?

So why am I sitting at a work station?

| (...) Two thoughts: - way too small for minifigs - 4 wide trains would be too small to be able to be made to look good without a ton of special parts The size issue though is probably one reason we won't see 8 wide trains. (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)
