Case in point when Tim C. changed the .dat to .ldr extension it was just
done. Had he posted it here (lugnet), we would still be debating about the
a) change, b) new 3 character extension, etc..

Well that wasnt just me. Steve and I had discussed it for some time and had
wanted to move in that direction. The change actually got a bit of help from
Michael Lachmann who asked, and Steve and I gave a thumbs up, then others
followed suit.
That minor correction stated, Im not sure why the MOTM proposed changes is
such a big issue here - theres a general concensus on the proposed changes
with the exception of a technicality. Hopefully thatll get ironed out soon
enough. I think Orion should (and can, rightfully) go ahead with the change
as the caretaker of web content, with the general consensus of the community.

I agree.
I like Orions last proposal that allows for DAT/LDR/MPD to be available along
with the views. If people dont want to share, and it diminishes their ability
to win, that is their choice.
A highly superior model without DAT/LDR/MPD will win.
Go for it Orion. Ill support whatever you decide.
