I like the lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat, and lugnet.cad.dev heirarchy best. If
we ever got to the point where lugnet.cad was getting a hundred post a day, it
might make sense to further break it down. If anything, right now lugnet.cad
suffers from too low volume to keep it interesting.
For now, at least, I think bug reports, suggestions, help requests, etc.
should be done in lugnet.cad, while part voting and in-depth discussion among
programmer types (e.g. how to handle colors or meta-commands) would be in
lugnet.cad.dev.

Perhaps the way to handle this would be to make anouncement on L-Cad about
moving discussions to lugnet, and explain how to subscribe by all the
different methods. Then once we reach agreement, we give people a week or so
to unsubscribe to L-Cad with the knowledge that all those still subscribed to
L-Cad at the end of the week will automatically be subscribed to lugnet.cad,
lugnet.cad.dat, and lugnet.cad.dev via e-mail.
I would also suggest gatewaying L-CAD messages into lugnet.cad, but not the
other way (or we'll keep knocking L-CAD down). That way if people stumble
across an L-CAD reference, we can let them know how to find our new location.

We can still consider ourselves the "L-CAD community" regardless of where/how
we communicate with one another. The community of common interests existed
before the list did, though the existence of the list certainly helped build
up the community. I'd say continue to call them L-CAD updates.
