I want to apologise for "lumping you in with that chump Scott Arthur"(1)
when it comes to debating, that wasn't my intent by naming the two of you at
the start of the thread.
It's just that you two are the "usual suspects" when it comes to discussing
Palestinians. You have better sources than some of the rest of us, and
you're the most vocally one sided about it. So I figured you'd be able to
debunk the article, if debunking was *possible*.
I think Tom maybe is exaggerating for effect, but your stand on this IS one
sided, or at least that's been my perception so far (and that of many others
too, I suspect.)
Here's your chance to partially correct that if you choose to. Answer the
questions I posed, or these restatements.
IS the PA a supporter of terrorism by others?
IS it a perpetrator of terrorism on its own?
IS it corrupt?
IS it a dictatorship?
IS it a suppressor of rights?
IS it ultimately, good for Palestinians?
IS it the best the Palestinians can do for themselves at self government or
even close?
IS the PA an impediment to peace?
My answers are yes, yes, yes, yes, yes (5 yes answers for the indictments of
the PA) and no, no yes (it's not good for Palestinians in the long run and
they can do much MUCH better, and it's an impediment to peace, not part of
the solution)
Answer the questions and don't mention *anything* about Israel, however
justified you feel in pointing out that they are just as bad or that they
justify what the PA has done so far.
If you can do that you will go a long way to restoring (my) perception of
you as balanced and able to see both sides of the matter. But if you revert
to mentioning Israel as you usually do, you only revalidate (my) perception
of you as one sided.
I have posed a hard challenge to you, I think.
Can you do it?
I believe that people are basically good. So I think and hope you can.

I think we all love her, we all want the best, I think we all should get
upset and I think that it's *important* to hold our government accountable.
> I have a right to disagree
As should we all. No one is faulting you for disagreeing, per se.

I'm not sure you are, unfortunately.

You bet. 100%. No, make it 1000%

Let's just pretend you didn't say that paragraph. We just don't need any
"explanations in person", whatever that means. If you can show balance as I
outlined above, I solemnly promise *never* to claim that you say or said
that they are the root of all evil.
Would that evil was but one tree so we could root it out easily, but evil
has many many roots. More's the pity.
1 - and please forgive me for snickering quietly when I first read that.
Nobody's perfect. Some are close, of course, but noone is all the way there.
Not even me. :-)
