I agree that legally Israel does exist and that it is here to stay. I wish
they would respect human rights a little more, stop murdering people,
respect UN resolutions, hand back what is does not belong top them, get rid
of their nuclear weapons and try to be a bit more of a team player. But, I
suppose, I'm an idealist.

How about you?

I'm an idealist too. Oh, that wasn't what you were asking... I agree with
all of that except for the part about the nukes. I know it's accepted wisdom
that Israel has some. If they do I think they ought to keep them. At least
until we invent a "reality distortion field" that makes them not work at
all, all around the world, or something. (which isn't very likely, really,
although lots of fun SF has been written around the idea).

What about Jordan, though? Is Jordan the Palestinian Homeland per the
original UN resolution, or is it something else?

I live in the greatest country in the world. If I moved to a not so good one
(say England). Scotland would still be my home.

I suspect (but can't confirm
since Dan hasn't said) Dan does not feel that way at all.

So?

I'm just trying to establish where everyone stands. You and Dan are the
strongest defenders of the Palestinians and their actions. (not the only
ones, mind you... but many of the rest of us are a bit more balanced about
it...)

I don't really see myself in those terms. Read the news and you will see
that Israel are pretty good at manipulating the media - the Palestinians
lack the same skills (at the subtle end of the scale anyway). I think both
sides of the argument always needs to be heard on every issue - even when
one side says ~7000 people have been murdered in the space of an hour.  I
don't support the Palestinians anymore than I do the Israelis (I think both
the Israelis and the Palestinians need to be sent to bed without any
supper.), I just think their voice needs no be herd a little more.
