I fear I have allowed myself to be misunderstood. I was a little bemused by
that news story it shows a degree of clumsiness on both sides. However, as
Mr Straw was visiting the Middle East to speak Iran, I am sure it was not
detrimental to the main aim of his trip. Cynics may say it was a well
calculated move.

I'm afraid I have never taken the time to read it. I suspect I am not in a
minority.

I don't think you have to *read* it to decide if you agree with the general idea or not, that the UN had the power to decide that Palestine was to be partitioned, and designated each partition as a homeland for someone.
