I subscribe to about 40 Lugnet groups on 3 different computers via NNTP.
That's my idea of cool! ;)
I've never figured out how to subscribe to rtl or I would (paid usenet
account?). I simply use Outlook Express as my news reader for ease of use.
I must be getting old school, because I'm not sure what RSS or an aggrigator
is. I dislike the new string of Phpboards (is that right?) that have
seemingly taken over every facet of my hobbies recently. Sometimes I just
hate having to go to the web for my news. To me, NNTP is easier to search,
track messages, and save important info with. Plus, if I see a post that's
deemed worthy for other people who may not have seen it, I can forward it to
them just like an email. I'd love it if I could find other sites/hobbies
that had NNTP viewing.
If Lugnet takes away NNTP (not saying that it will), it would be a sad day
for me and many other people, but I can't speak for them. Thanks to you,
Todd, and the other people involved that allows me to NNTP my Lugnet! Now
if there was a newsreader that would show images...
