Also Trains is somewhat dead in current EU catalog.

Reason ( from an inside contact):   Lego(R) are completly revamping the
Trains theme! ----
It looks like Mindstorms will be used on trains!( DCC at last)

I ran across an equally mysterious comment from the operator at US S@H to the
effect that "it will blow your mind",

Same from my connection on this side of the Atlanic.

I'm not quite sure about all of that but
it does beg the question...an RCX "brick" is about 8 studs wide...hmmm, I
don't think we need any pre-emptive gloating from certain 8 wide
individuals...

Also I was given the standard lecture when speaking to Consumer Affairs about
DCC and Marklin, etc...that "TLG does not use suggestions made by customers
and will not be held accountable if future product bears any resemblance to a
customer's suggestion"

This is essentially an IPR protection, they just as scared of a lawsuit as we
are! Besides consumer affiars has to deal with a lot more than just customewr
suggestions.

Then why did the S@H operator patch me through to CA to
relay my suggestion personally ?

S&H and Worldshop used to have simmilar terms ISTR.
I think given the Justus saga last year TLC/TLG is listening to the fans!
Also My connection at Hamleys seems to be from a different part of the compnay
But appears to know senior people inside Lego here in the UK.

I compiled  a list of ideas from LUGNET
-( And I included names where I could! Also mentioned that they were not  my
ideas but those of others.)

I list I gave to him has gone to TLG/TLC.

When I checked back on Friday, he said it had been passed to Denamrk!!

That means he either passed to their Legal Department or Niels read it and
passed it on.

It appears it is not a case of what you know, It is a case of WHO you know.
That said consusmer affairs should be more receptive of thier cuastomers.

The way I am intending to work with sending ideas in is as follows:

1. Prepare Idea in skecth form
        2. Write detiald document detialing design, usage of part.. etc.
        3. L-Draw it.
4. Produce 3(?) Hard copies of all documentation.
- File one to self
- Send one to TLC through connections.
- Possibly file one with appropraite legal professional
5. Wait for a repsonse.

On inovative ideas I do check thorugh current range dand the Patent Office's. I
don't want to tread on toes.

Alex
