If 20-25+ years ago George Lucas planned to offer his audience modest lightsaber
battles (in ANH & TESB), so that he could wow his future fans (the same fans
that he was sure would in fact be hooked) with a phenomenal lightsaber battles
in his at-the-time unscripted prequels, then I ineed give him credit for his
admirable foresight, patience, and astounding subtelty. I do indeed hope to be
soundly thrashed for my lack of faith when EP2 & EP3 are released, but, our
first new SW movie in 16 years displayed a decided lack of sophistication in
terms of its characterization, plot development, and, yes, eye for detail.
