Perhaps you wouldn't, but don't be surprised if some people here don't
believe that.  I've skimmed most of this thread, and it sounds like a broken
record.  Some people whine about what LEGO should do.  Other people counter
them, but are unsuccessful in explaining the logic behind a business's
actions.  Its not because these people don't write good explanations, its
because the whiners don't want to listen to them.  I was being sarcastic on
one level, but if you really think about it I wasn't kidding when I said
this thread belongs in lugnet.dear-lego.waaaaahhhhh or
lugnet.off-topic.baseless-speculation.

Maybe so, I'm going to stop complaining right now, since I'm getting
this feeling that I've ticked a bunch of people off.

Matt, I don't think you've ticked anyone off, particularly.  You're just the
latest in a long series of victims of "internetitis".  There are several
common discussions that will crop up around here, and this is one of them;
you aren't the first to complain bitterly about how Lego does things, or to
be convinced that you know far better than they what their market is.  I've
done it; Tim's done it - darn near all of us have at some point or another.
Heck, Richard Marchetti makes a career out of it. ;p (just kidding, hop.)

In a discussion forum like this, or a chat forum, or nearly any of the
various net-based communications, these kinds of discussion crop up
regularly, and it gets awfully hard to tell this particular gripe and this
particular griper from the one 3 months ago, or 6 months ago, or 2 years ago.

You're getting the brunt of people's frustration with the repetative
argument; people aren't actually frustrated by *you*, just the circumstance.

Stick around a year or so; it's surprising how quickly you find yourself on
the "oh man, not this again" side of the discussion. :)

thanks,

James
