I saw some red flags with the Insectiods and LOM, but
this is just squat compared to (I don't want to say it...) GALIDOR.
(shudders at the thought of this...)

Sadly, LEGO greatness has been reduced to a company on SELL OUTS! SELL OUTS!
SELL OUTS! SELL OUTS! SELL OUTS! SELL OUTS!  Please excuse me, I need to cry
in a corner.  Let's hatemail LEGO now.  It seems to be the only way.  Not by
e-mail, of course, but by actual snail mail.  We need to act now, before
it's too late.

Guess that's right. TLC has been doing a lot of licensing and bandwagonning
lately, and I just can't see why. Yeah, It's cool to see a few new SW and HP
sets, but don't you think it's more than enough when they initiate a seven
year contract with LucasFilms and kille off the space line.

Sure, it may be great for the company to direct space into one continguincy,
and reap more profits, but I think it may be destroying a potential target
group for space fans. Let's see lego launch into a Military theme or perhaps
a medieval european castle expasion. Now that would be great.

TLC will not release any Military sets unless Hasbro buys them out.  Their
company credo states that they will never base their product of violent
war-like, gun toting toys.  Wait a minute!!  All those Castle, Pirate,
Western and Star Wars sets are military and have weapons of personal or mass
destruction.  Oh well, there goes the credo!!  Bring on the LEGO GI JOE
license!!!  Hmmm...  That has a nice ring to it!
COBRA!!!

(...) Heh, that's what I was thinking. It's kind of ironic that they would go against their own policy and market toys that in their creed 'advocate personal or mass destruction'. But that's good isn't it? There should at least be some sense of (...) (22 years ago, 11-Aug-02, to lugnet.general)
