Why's that such a big problem? I mean... it's not like a 20 byte part
file, or 10000 of them, will take up a significant amount of space.
Especially zipped, when you don't have to worry about cluster sizes.

By the time there are so many "extra" parts to become annoying (ie, at
32 kb clusters, 32 megs = 1000 files), a basic, dirt-cheap $500 PC
will be coming with a 20 gig HD.

There's the problem of speed, in going through such a large directory
listing, of course, but I have the feeling that that same $500 PC will
be coming with at least a gigahertz processor in 5 years or less
time...

There's the issue of people trying to find a part in a list and having
to scroll through too much.

How about, if this becomes significant, adding a special "no_display"
flag to all those "colorerd shortcut" files? then you could have only
the original, color 16'ed part show up in such a list, with hyperlinks
to colored versions, if someone feels they want to use those.

Of course, if you search the database by _number_, all the files
should be searched.

Anyway, I feel that adding the capability to search under any part
number a part is known under is significant. Of course, I'm not really
a user, so my opinions doin't really count for much :)
