  is anyone else finding...
 
Ok, I have now bought and assembled all of the Star Wars sets. Being a huge fan of both Star Wars and Legos, these sets are a dream come true for me. On the one hand, they're Star Wars, and on the other hand- they're a return to the Lego sets of (...) (25 years ago, 8-May-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

I know what you mean, Todd. I shelled out $89 for the Mos Espa Pod Race and had it built in about ten-fifteen minutes. The same thing used to happen with the UFO sets. The only System sets that ever gave me even an inch of challenge were the larger (...) (25 years ago, 8-May-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build)

You know I found my self getting rather board when I was building the Tie Fighter, especially during the cockpit stage. I just thought that I was getting sleepy, or........ I asked if I could purchase the AT-AT Walker from the LEGO Roadshow.....not a chance came the reply ;-( You have to wonder though how they go about building such monsters.....I read somewhere that a prototype is built then a second is built with the (...) Regarding Building exhaustion. Recently finished off the top of my Millennium Falcon model and that took a tole on me. Was up till 4:30 am working on it and finally had to go to sleep. Yes and no, depending on how many copies are needed. The Master Builder I talked to at Legoland CA explained that when doing a one-of-a-kind model, the MB would complete it, and then hand it off to specialists that are experts at copying - they'd (...) I thought the use of a dozen or so bricks to represent a cave was especially interesting as well. I could not believe they didn't use a BURP (or two). Another interesting thing - the Pod Race. On the green racer, there is a purple grille tile COMPLETELY hidden from view, it is covered by another brick completely. For me, I have evolved from colors to actually sorting bricks out by their size/shape. I have eight 60 drawer shelving units, and multiple plastic variable size tackle box type containers. As some other guys, I think the most appropriate way of sorting/storing the pieces (from the building point of view) is using a drawer system. Mine is from "port-bag" (an imported product so it must be available some other places, too). They are (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

(...) Really? Considering what they do, they are a decent size. I don't think that plate-based hinges could deliver the 'clicking' function of these hinges. Yesterday I managed to buy a bunch of old Lego from someone including all of the original instructions, etc. So today, I gathered a couple friends and sorted and built most of the sets, after seven hours of this I became exhausted, so I'll finish (...) lots of interesting ideas here : ) here is the system I developed recently and its works for me. it goes thru a couple of stages. I prefer to sort by color first dumping the need to sort legos into one of the large boxes from the 5571 truck / dark (...) (25 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

I combine building with sorting. Most of my pieces are sorted following the colour and type rule, each separate. But with bricks and plates, I "build" them, and then store them. By building, I stack the pieces together, and they fit quite well into (...) (25 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

(...) I think this is a very good idea. If one sorts all the parts in various bins, one quickly ends up with lots of boxes which are needed to make anything at all. Ed, your system sounds like Conan's (the GMLTC host/chief lunatic) in a lot of ways. (...) He has about 100 or so of these. 40 of them are for basic bricks and plates, and 30 or so for slopes and windows. A final 30 or so have train parts, hinges (...) (25 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

That's what Conan has bunches of. the Pause DB does NOT have 575... or any other set that would be it, at least not under BASIC 5+, (...)
