  Re: "soccer" test event...

(...) PeachyServer (actually known as PeachyProfessional, the original Peachy was an Amiga 4000 running as a XTerm to department Solaris boxen) actually isn't a hell of a lot to play around on, it's a SPARCserver without a keyboard, mouse, or (...)   I'm BACK on line

WELL, after a 3 day absence the good folks at my ISP rogers cable decided that I should once again be deemed with internet on cable. (those lousy rasa-frasa-dang-gosh-) AGRH!!!   Why Pregnata Rotates

Last night, I tried my best to explain how the robot I brought last night could rotate smoothly. I got the idea from Eric Brok's fabulous resource, LEGO on my mind.   lego shopping day

I decided to go shopping around it being a nice day, and wearing my short- sleeve shirt....what away to start the spring break (well not me, but for the kids in general). I went to 2 places...Toys R US, and Walmart. True to Greg Hyland, the Western (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  "soccer" test event...

last night, instead of a normal dinner get-together, we met at the MIE lab at University of Toronto, and tested out the playability of a "live" robo-sports game. I think it would have been cool to play around Peachy-Server, the life-blood of (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: How many people are brining bots?

(...) I'm not going to even attempt to battle traffic until 6 p.m. so I won't be in Toronto until after 7ish. There you are. I have built a quick 'bot at home (w/ kicker) but it's still at home :( So I think I'll just wait until the next event. Have (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: How many people are brining bots?

Of course, we'll sort this out tonight, but I don't see why we should bar anti-robot strategies unless they violate our usual standards. That is, no using string or wires as weapons (too easy) no dumping of substantial numbers of parts on the play (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: How many people are brining bots?

I'll definitely try to make it by 6. I'll bring one very evil 'tank' steer player that is inspired by 3 back-to-back BattleBots episodes. Featuring half-a-dozen battery boxes on a pneumatic driven "kicker". Generating up to 20 kg of downward force (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: How many people are brining bots?

I'm bringing three: a rack & pinion trike, a fragile tank/skid steerer with a kicker, and an upgraded tank identical in design but less prone to self-destruct. I'm also bringing three towers, three cables, the little patch cable and a floppy with my (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtl10.1 Playfield

I managed to slap together a robot this morning in about an hour and half. After fixing one major design flaw, I was basically covering up the IR port, I discovered it's about a 1/4 inch too long. I hope this isn't a problem. I'll definitely build a (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
