this maybe for Richards sake, moreso than anybody else, but I received
the Second Spring Catalogue for 2002.

It has the Galidor cover on it, and has the first edition Galidor Items.
I wasn't that impressed with that...it ranks below even Jack Stone as far
as stuff to buy....

On page 2 and 3, it highlighted the new Studio "line" ... it had the
Spiderman set, and the Green Hornet set ... Spiderman at $29.99 US (MSRP,
Shop@Home Price), and Green Hornet set at $6.99 (MSRP, Shop@Home Price).

Needless to say, I would NOT pay $30.00 for Spiderman minifig and a bunch
of generally Jack Stone elements, with a few regular elements mixed in.

The Green Hornet, while obsenely an "eye sore" for some, has some good
elements included, including 2 really nice "street lamps".  But I can't
say the same for the "turbo jet" thing it is riding on...another tragic
occurance of Town Junior...IMO.

These aren't reviews, just casual observations/initial reactions to what
I seen.

The rest of the catalogue is status quo.  Those things haven't changed a lot.
They added the "juniorized" street signs (dacta) to the bulk discount page,
but they again didn't include a lot of the bulk packs back into the discounts
like the January 2002 catalogue did. :(

I am going to phone possibly tomorrow, to see if the limited edition
Sante Fe trains are still available, or if they switched to unlimited
editions.

This is because I am interested in 2 of them (unlimited) to have an A and
B units.  I want to leave my limited edition unopened.  I know this flies
in the face of the whole issue of playability vs collectibility.  But at
~ $75 CDN for each, I think the value of the set will probably increase
if left unopened.

Subsequent Sante Fe's at the same price, would not likely appreciate in value
would have more value if they were opened and used....

(at least that is my rational...)

Ben
