Doc Martens are actually very nice shoes, and affordable, too.
Perhaps they are more expensive "over there"?
My "office shoes" (dressy DMs) are ten years old, and they still look
new. My ten-hole shoes are close to ten years old, and are getting a
bit worn. But they have seen a lot of (ab)use!
