Well, as a criticism of public-funded programs, it wasn't a very strong
point, so don't feel bad if you don't understand it. We've had countless
discussions here about the US Gov't prying into everyone's dirty laundry (or
medical history), and that fear (justified or not) will pervade US
self-perception for a long time to come.

Be careful of straw man summations like that. A privatized system doesn't
say "you're wealthy, so you're *better* that that impoverished fellow over
there." Instead, the privatized system says "I am charging money for
services I provide, and those who are able to pay for those services will
receive them." There's no implication of "better" or "worse" people
inherent in the privatized system.

"Outside the box" is another phrase that should be tacked onto Godwin's Law.
