Fine, but I *really* am asking why you think private is better (and I don't
mean just for those who have the money to pay for it. I mean for the nation)
You don't appear to have evidence yet.
The example you give is interesting though as I the 'realness' of
privatization has been discussed here before. It is *competition* that
makes a private company perform, not simply the fact that they are 'better'
people because they get paid more. (This is the argument my boss, your
countryman Bob Kiley is having with the UK government at the moment over the
'privatization' of London Underground through long term maintenance
contracts). If the entire city's system is contracted out then there is no
competition. OK, the city has the power to remove the company on
non-performance but it has that power over public employees.
