  WS3D RCX Challenge #5 Results
 
Yesterday was the Workshop 3D RCX Challenge #5. The Lego robotics competition took place in the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Events were line following (two divisions), sumo, and puck gathering. The code-only line tracking event will be held (...) I've now entered the last two contests, and seen the last three, and I'm getting some ideas on how it could potentialy be improved. Overall I still think it's a great contest, and run quite well. Oh, I almost forgot: Gus also won a "Most Innovative Robot" award at Robothon 2002 for his RCX controlled helicopter! We've seen this slowly evolving at a couple of the SMART meetings. Last weekend Gus Jansson participated in the Robothon 2002 at the Seattle Center. Last year he won first place with his LEGO maze-solver.   September Meeting Details
 
On Saturday, September 15, SMART will have a meeting in Renton after the Seattle Robotics Society meeting. The SRS meeting is from 10am to noon. The SMART meeting will be from 1:30 to 3pm. (...) I tried another light sensor I had, and it's readings were 670 around the rest of the room, and 655 at 9 inches. In other words, not only were the readings lower, but much less sensitive. Hi Everyone, I just created a spreadsheet that I think will be useful to many of us. It shows the lengths of possible diagonals in terms of LEGO Units.
