Thank you to everyone who helped out and also to everyone who brought robots
to NWBrickCon this past weekend. Those of us who were there had a lot of
fun. Thousands of people came to see our robots, and had opportunity to
interact with some of them.
Pictures of the event may be seen in the folders starting here:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=26386
I've collected the ones specific to robot activities in subfolders under
"Saturday" and "Sunday" (click "Robots" in both folders).
Again, thanks to everyone who helped out for making this a great weekend. I
hesitate to give names, lest I forget someone -- so if I do, please accept
my sincerest apologies in advance -- there were a lot of people that showed
up, and I was busy the whole weekend!
First, thank you, Gus, for bringing so many robots that captivated the
interests of so many people. Your helicopter was a tremendous hit, as was
your puck gatherer. The other robots you brought were also very well
received. It would only have been half as good without you and your robots
there.
Thanks also to Barton, Doug, Emmett, Mark and Mr. Harris who brought many
robots and were there and helped out for a good portion of the weekend. The
extra line trackers, sumo, Simon-Says (Dancing) robots, and others were very
much appreciated. Your help even more so!
Thank you, Scott, for helping out not only with demonstrating robots, but
also fixing them when they needed to be fixed, and also for keeping this
many kids in line!
Finally thanks to Tom, Steve and Ethan and one or two others who also helped
out, or dropped off robots. And thanks to everyone else who showed up just
to see what was happening, and give words of encouragement.
There was some voting done by the attendees of NWBrickCon, and Gus'
helicopter won as "Best Robot"; Ethan's M&M sorter won as "Most Original
Robot". Congratulations!
