This is a good idea, but I wonder how many people would actually have a working

I don't care if you don't use a homing sensor, that isn't really the point. If
we are going to use a sensor port for the "wire communication" why can't we just
use a touch sensor instead? Have your gantry drive into the sensor to signify
its done. And you still have all three motor ports. Sounds simple enough to me.

No. I'm fine with IR, but this silly "wire communication" is a total waste of a
motor port. Besides, doesn't the touch sensor approcach lend itself well to
human players?
