[1] Because it could cripple LUGNETs development. If they told me about
something I coincidentally was planning for us, I'd be prevented from
implementing it.

Indeed...  Our Intellectual Property policy precludes us from signing NDA's
with TLC.  This is by design, for although we document as much as we can
think of, there are still always things we've talked about but haven't
documented yet publicly or privately.  Because of the huge potential overlap
between LUGNET and things LEGO might do, it would be naive of us to sign an
NDA with TLC on anything having to do with the Internet or LEGO Direct --
for the reasons of possible coincidence that Suzanne mentioned.  This hasn't
impaired our ability to meet and talk about general things.

Sometimes I do a handshake, agreeing to be silent, which I think is cool.

To clarify, when we shake hands with people from LEGO, these aren't legally
binding handshakes on any agreement to remain silent or of any contractual
agreement, but rather are handshakes of formal greeting before sitting down,
just as a matter of course.  We have agreed verbally to remain silent on a
few things that LD volunteered to us but have never shaken hands
specifically to seal agreements of silence.
