sXXXX-a.dat  main set of instructions, first model.
sXXXX-aa.dat main instructions, first model, first component • (submodel)

sXXXX-b.dat  main instructions, second model.

sXXXXaa.dat  first alt. instructions, first model.
sXXXXaaa.dat first alt. instructions, first model, first • component
sXXXXaab.dat first alt. instr, first model, second component.

I hope that's clear enough :)  This system would also allow • official

This could lead to giant MPD files for every set, though, • making me

eg:

sXXXX-YY.dat         same as above, but references to • components
                    changed to use the directory
sXXXX-YY\main-a.dat  same as sXXXX-a.dat above
sXXXX-YY\main-aa.dat same as sXXXX-aa.dat above
sXXXX-YY\alt1-a.dat  same as sXXXXaa.dat above
sXXXX-YY\alt1-aa.dat same as sXXXXaaa.dat above
sXXXX-YY\alt2-a.dat  same as sXXXXba.dat would be above

Unfortunately, using ZIP means the files will not be directly • viewable as
MPD is.  You would have to download and unzip instead of just • opening
LDLite from the browser.  Maybe MPD could be improved to • support
directories?  Or does it already?
Whew, I'm done.

My feelings on alternate models: The only alt. models that
should be included
in the OMR are Technic ones, since we have instructions. Box
back models
are not really 'official' models as there are no instructions
for them; the should
be considered MOCs. I've been thinking about the Technic alts
and I think the
best way to number them would be something like SXXXXalt.dat
Does that seem OK? The only problem we get into is what to name
the submodels.
Any suggestions??
