What about saving 9 volt trains? Why isn’t that the number 1 issue? Why isn’t it on the list AT ALL?

Over the past two years many of us have been lobbying this point with every LEGO employee we meet, from shelf stocker to Kel himself, yet it’s not even on the Ambassador concern list.

For SCLTC, my family, and myself, it’s absolutely vital that TLC continue to supply 9V train electrical components so that we can continue to do shows that attract (just for us alone) up to 250,000 visitors per year. The day that the motor supplies dry up, our members stop volunteering the use of theirs. And we aren’t the only LTC that has said that no motors = no shows = no club.

Help! Help! Help!

Help is here!

The ‘Save 9v Trains’ campaign has been around for quite some time. This issue will be brought to the Ambassadors’ forums now, as an item to add to the list. We are very glad that you have brought this up again here. Thanks, Ted!

Have you discussed this with any LEGO Ambassador recently, as part of your lobbying effort?

The death of 9V trains would be a thousand times more devastating to the single most visible contingent of LEGO fans than the grey color change.

Train clubs are the real ambassadors of LEGO. Throughout the world at model railroad hobby shows, LEGO train clubs are putting layouts on display highlighting the 9V train system. There are no space or castle or any other genre that does anything nearly as visible to the public eye as train clubs. It’s great PR for LEGO and they would be absolutely stupid to cancel it.

But I’m with Ted on this. It’s absolutely GALLING that it was not on your issue list. And that your reaction is being brought to the forums *NOW*, to be *ADDED* to the list, really appalls me. It should have been #1 on the list ALL ALONG!!!!

Disclaimer: I'm not a train guy, not even close. And I agree that the 9V system is a fantastic system in and of itself, not to mention the amazing things train clubs do with it. Should it be on the "list"? I'd *absolutely* agree. And I really (...) (17 years ago, 29-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors)

(...) That seems a bit harsh. As a non-trainhead (organizing our clubs first train show for September) I thought 9V was SAVED. The save9vtrains website has not been updated in months the last time I looked. The Hobby Train (K10183) set came out and (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)
