I have to take issue with the statement also.
BrickJournal has become pretty visible to the public eye, as it now averages
50,000 downloads an issue. In terms of visibility, the magazine has gotten
inquiries and news releases from places such as Russia and last week, China.
The main advantage that the train groups have is that they have a place to go to
show a display - a train show. Unfortunately, North Carolina (where I live) no
longer has model railroading shows. Other genres are not as easily displayed.
But they can step up - imagine a display at San Diego Comic-Con. With attendance
at 100,000+, that would really kick up the exposure. And the LEGO Group had a
booth there.

| (...) Good point. The question then becomes where can you blend a certain theme with an already existing Con or event. LEGO did it in what I thought was a spectacular fashion at Celebration III, with a huge display of SW ships in LEGO (including (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors)
