If you would like to see more people needlessly complaining I’m sure that can be arranged. Perhaps Save9VTrains should have a message on the front page requesting that people kick up a fuss regularly.

Actually while I would not support “needlessly complaining” if it is still an issue, and Save9VTrains is the HQ of the effort to actually do something about it, then yes they should have some sort of updates on a regular basis.

For instance they could just answer simple questions like: What was the last “action” they took? Did they get any results? What is the next planned action? Who do they nominate to represent trains in the next round of ambassadors?

I would not expect new information posted daily, weekly or maybe even monthly but the very least should be quarterly.

I can’t cite numbers, but I know that my wife became an AFOL after being inspired by a SCLTC demonstration. She had always been a model railroad fan, never ran one, but seeing the integration of training, set building, and technic trestle bridges was more than she could resist. Since the RC trains at least currently have severe load problems, it seems 9volt is still the only way to go for a serious Lego model train enthusiast. She and I would both feel better with an official acknowledgement from TLG that they intend to continue supporting the format.

I find a modicum of comfort in knowing that even LEGO acknowledges that the RC trains have load problems:

http://www.lego.com/eng/service/faqs.asp?section=ConsumerService-FAQ-Products&catid=E9ED19A2-1ED8-4A3A-9D1D-9F636FCE86E8&faqid=21278#21278

And that they recommend the RC trains only run the number of wagons the sets come with (2 on the passenger, 4 on the cargo train). That same page used to say to run more wagons to switch to 9v, but that seems to have since been removed.
