I love this! Nice colors, funny faces of the riders and a good mix of Technic parts and "normal" parts. Maybe I have to get out my realy old LEGO train tracks and build a rollercoaster track? If it's anything like the teflon coated fishing line I'm using (for fishing actually) it's also a little harder to knot then normal fishing lines. Personally I use servos connected either to pneumatic switches or polarity switches. It's not a small solution but I feel it's more LEGO pure as I'm only replacing what my fingers could do with the servos. See my site for a lot of examples of this. (...) Or would be hard to do... 8466 with fourwheel steering? i have one sitting on my desk, rear axle is built like the front one and it has 4 wheel drive and (...) I have a question about a certain kind of technic gear, specifically the 14 tooth bevel gear #4143. Is it thin enough that you could use an 8 tooth gear on the same axle as one of these and not have it rub against the 14 tooth gear on the axle (...) (21 years ago, 15-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

I have a recommendation for those of you who need good string/cable to use in your models: SpiderWire ((URL) used for fishing, and is specially designed for maximum strength with minimum diameter. My two cents: 1. The current technic electric motor needs traditional technic bricks to conect it to the newer liftarm elements - but is it being officially replaced by spybiotics/rc components? My bet is not. 2. The economics of a liftarm-based (...) (21 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

Just look at the 3 new "Technic" sets. All seem to be made exclusively using the new style rounded beams and plates. I don't even see any traditional beams in any of the sets. It just came to my attention that John Barnes is stopping production of Mindstorms and Radio Control Lego components. According to his article on LUGNET the demand is to great and he can't keep up. Since the demand is so great why not raise the (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

Basicly, we need a "universal" type set that emphasizes function over form & that doesnt have studless beams, faring panels or anything like that. Since I'm getting more and more into the Technic stuff I'm trying to build models which can operate like the real ones. I have many, many Technic sets but 95% of them are from the period 1977 to approx. 1999. Since then I haven't bought Technic sets (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)
