Basicly, we need a "universal" type set that emphasizes function over form
& that doesnt have studless beams, faring panels or anything like that.
Something with a couple of models (2 or 3) plus a whole bunch of "ideas" of
how to do different little assemblies and stuff with the set.
Basicly, I envisage it as being like the old technic universal sets or like
the new "designer" sets (perhaps a range of different sets in different
sizes and/or colors)

I dont think that a "bucket of beams" is what is needed, beams alone are
useless & would mean you then have to buy a newer set just to get a
handfull of gears and axles and stuff.

Another idea is to then have "addon" sets (much like how there are "addon"
sets for mindstorms) for example, a pneumatic addon set would add pneumatic
parts and instructions to the base set. An electric addon set would add a
motor and battry box plus ideas on how to use them. And so on.

Question is, what parts would you put in the set?
Anyone want to help draw up a list of what might fit in a "starter set" or
"starter sets"? Someting that doesnt have the studless beams and stuff.

A Pneumatic add on set exists already, the 8466 has instuctions on how to mount a crane in the back using the addon set.(5218 is the #) Gerard "Jonathan Wilson" <jonwil@tpgi.com.au> wrote in message news:HDA2J7.KCy@lugnet.com...
