My two cents:

1. The current technic electric motor needs traditional technic bricks • to
conect it to the newer liftarm elements - but is it being officially
replaced by spybiotics/rc components? My bet is not.

plz no!!!
i want to have traditional technic motors
they can be modified to use with liftarms
but let them exist as motors not as • superhero-multi-purpouse-compact-module
:)))
I hope the Technic motors never goes out of production, actually I hope they
start to produce more of the old 9V electric motor without gearing. Or
better, the old 4.5v style motors, they had a better speed.

2. The economics of a liftarm-based system make complete sense for Lego: • you
need 2 bricks to connect 2 bricks. But you need at least 3 pieces to • connect
two liftarms: 2 liftarms and 1 pin (make that at least 2 pins if you are
looking for a fixed connection, rather than a flexible one)

hmm... it means that ppl should buy more pieces
but the in second hand
i supose liftarms are cheaper to produce
1. they need less material
2. the are simplier to mould

I have put 20pcs  Technic brick 1x16 with holes (part #3703) on my weight
and that was 112grams (5.6gram pr pcs). And 20 pcs Technic Liftarm 1x15
straight (part #32278) and that was 88grams total (4.4gram pr pcs)
That is not much diffrent when you HAVE to add a few technic pins on each
Liftarm to connect it to another liftarm.

> when i look at new technic models from TLC
i can bet that technic bricks are going away
ie TLC did new valves and new pistons

The new valves and new pistons was an improvment of the old one. But
replacing liftarms for technic brick is not good. Maybe I'm just a tad
oldfashion but I like the bricks better then liftarms.

now they will project new motors
(i hope with my idea of new electrics :) !!!
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=33022
(i remind i gave this idea for public)
on the pictures you can see the idea of new connector
which will no longer need 2x2 electric brick
the other advantage is that we will have
an ability to put wire through hole or even axle-hole
which is impossible to do now
Well, we need more ways to use electric parts but I hope not the old ones
disapears, they could actually live side by side since one pieces has some
advantage above the other whatever way you look at it.

then whole technic will appear as liftarm based :)))

Hope not....
More liftarms yes, but not all liftarms and no bricks.
