I'm sorry that some members of NILTC took offense at my joke. In particular,
Ondrew, I am sorry that you took offense. It is regrettable. I may not
necessarily think it's reasonable to take offense so, but that doesn't matter,
you've stated you were offended and I apologise.
I'm not privy to the internal structure, or lack thereof, of the NILTC. If it
has structure, and an officer or official representative contacts me asking for
an apologhy, I'll be happy to compose a more formal apology to the club as a
whole, and that officer or official representative can forward it on via their
internal commmuncations mechanisms.
If, on the other hand, NILTC does not have formal structure, if there are other
members of the club that took offense that have not yet made themselves known,
they are welcome to contact me personally and I will apologise to them as well.
As to the library, I suspect no one from the library is even aware of this
issue. However if there are library personnel that are offended, they too are
welcome to contact me and I will apologise to them as well.
Hopefully that would be sufficient to terminate this part of this thread.

| (...) Larry, if you're so busy dealing with Lugnet issues (URL) I would suggest the quickest resolution would be to just apologise "to anyone that may be offended" in the original thread. ROSCO (19 years ago, 24-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.general)
