It's a gray area for sure and like just about anything which is gray, you
can find a corner case which doesn't fit the model very well. So it really
depends what sort of information you are sharing and more importantly, how
you came to possess it.
What someone does for a living, unless it is classified or illegal, isn't
something I place the same level of "Privacy" on like I would for detailed
address or phone number, sexual preference, religious orientation, marital
status, income, home town, place of birth, mother's maiden name, or many
others. I can't really explain why, but what someone does for a living just
seems to be lower on the Privacy pecking order than numerous other things
when I think about it. My $0.02, YMMV.
