High praise for TLG after seeing 4288 bucket for first time

Dear LEGO, It seems there has been a lot of TLG bashing going on lately, in several threads, in various newsgroups. I must admit, I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to making complaints about the current state of LEGO. So I thought it only fair (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Launch of new site: SimiLego

(...) The city uses some loose track pieces and virtually all of the monorail track of 3 6399s, 2 6990s, 1 6991, 5 6347s, and 2 6921s. SimiLego now links to a mostly complete set list. Glad you liked "PlastiCity". My wife and I actually combed (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: NELUG - Some things we learned while presenting at Mindfest

(...) It can be a very hard ballance to strike. I know, having been there, done that from both sides. I've exibited since I was 7 or so (rallied a steam traction Engine when I was 9 for 3 years). It is so hard to strike a ballance between "don't (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.org.us, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.general)

Re: NELUG - Some things we learned while presenting at Mindfest

(...) Na, all you need to do is call on the RCN. I'd be -quite- happy to show up, even in uniform (that always gets looks, even at school, where we are in uniform 4/5 days...) I could even build a model of my ship (using white instead of gray (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) or (...) AirSpeeder (...) Do keep in mind that you/we were presenting at a place where "hands-on" is a primary ethos. In most of the exibits adults and children were encouraged to touch, experiment, and create. The proximity to the (...) I'd like to add my congratulations on a totally awesome display. I think you were very restrained in your dealings with the less respectful public. I'm very posessive about my Lego and other hobbies, and my young nephews and nieces know that Uncle (...) (25 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.org.us, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.general)

(...) Speaking of RoboLab, Ben Erwin had a table at MindFest past this weekend with several demo-arrangements of RoboLab.   Re: H8 tools problems on Linux

Thanks for the plug, Jacob. I in fact have received a set of instructions for gcc 2.9.5, and began the work of integrating them into the HOWTO last night. However, I was interrupted and will not have time to finish the task tonight, so do expect gcc (...) (25 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) I edited this photo and put names on the different people. All should be correct, assuming Todd labeled everyone correctly. If there is a place that the image could be displayed, email me and I'll send it back to you. Ryan (25 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: Ideas for a court jester?

I looked through my pieces for a red 1x1 brick with studs on all 4 sides, but didn't find one. Were such pieces ever produced? I thought they were. I am certainly not the best person to answer this question, but I did get the impression that the folks at the Media Lab were somewhat overwhelmed by the effort that went into organizing this amazing event.   Problem with POV-RAY
