Huh, interesting. That would be cool. I'm realllly skeptical though -- I've
seen older optical mice, and it's not just the required special mouse pad
that is annoying -- they just plain don't work very well. And according to
the CNN article, these aren't any better:

mouse pad.  I have even tried it on the cat & it still works fine.  I
dont think the cat likes it too much though.

But yeah, if someone can get this working as a Mindstorms peripheral, it
would be very useful.

Trouble is the mice has more cpu grunt than the H8 in the RCX!!!!

Probably the first step would be to monitor the data sent from the mouse to the computer. I mean, if it is decoded by the driver or some other file, and it cannot be understood, then this project would instantly turn a lot harder. (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
