I agree people who purchase such vehicles though, well within their rights, are
selfish and ignorant. Not the normal kind of ignorance, but a willful
ignorance of the true cost of such vehicles.
The US does not fight wars in the mideast for anything other than stable, LOW,
gas prices.
The environmental impact of fossil fuel burning is obvious and well
established. Though cars only contribute about 30% (I might be a little off)
to this, they represent one of the easiest pathways to fossil fuel use
reduction.
