    Has anyone ever been missing a piece? —Paul Davidson
   I'm just curious if anyone has ever built their newly-bought lego set only to discover a piece is missing. I've often been positive partway through that I was missing one, but I always ended up finding it. On the other hand, I *always* have a small (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

As I was completeing the 4020 Fireboat I was lucky to get in a auction a while ago....I found that the stickers had been cut in half, and they were unusable. ARGH ! ! ! ! !      Hi Richard, I just traded a MISB 6989 MCM and a MISB 6987 MIB for a used complete 7740. My friend emailed me yesterday to say the 6989 was missing one of the large plastic wheels.      I had a which's castle that had two entrance bars? 6 bricks by 12 bricks but I was missing a castle wall piece.      Only once. I bought a bunch of 8414's, and building one I found a missing bag of pieces. There was a duplicate bag of other pieces though, so upon weighing the set seemed complete.      I guess you should call Lego then ... judging from the other responses here, they are very efficient at getting you the missing parts speedily.      Let me share a funny story - I thought I was missing a piece! I got the Technic space shuttle a while ago.      Yes, but just once so far out of all these sets I've been buying 9several hundren in the last 6 months). It was an arachnoid starbase purchased at Kohls, and it was apparently mispacked at Lego, as is was missing an entire large bag of parts, but (...) (25 years ago, 15-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

     Never been missing a piece, but a few weeks ago I found a damaged piece in a sealed 4551 Crocodile Engine train. It was a white 2x1x1 piece with small teeth on the sides, a tipical train piece.      The only occurrence of such a thing in my whole life was a box of 6332 (Town Jr Police Headquarters) which I won from a promotional lottery by a TRU in Istanbul. Actual reason is probably that the 1x1 round plates (there are a few other parts which sometimes come with an extra) are very close to the tolerance of their scales, so they put an extra one in, and set the limit to account for that extra (...)      I always think I've lost a piece or that one is missing when I'm building a new set. I'm just paranoid like that.
