I'm just curious if anyone has ever built their newly-bought lego set only

On the other hand, I *always* have a small handful of extra pieces. :)

I never EVER thought it would happen. Set after set, Q-control from Lego has
always been spot-on. (and yes, always with a few extra tiny bits!) Until just a
couple days ago! Augh! (funny you should ask right about now). A sealed, mint
(so mint it was a shame to open.. but whatcha gonna do..) 5571. The list is as
follows:
Missing:
2 1x4 plates, white
1 1x4 plate, blue
1 2x2 plate, black
1 2x2 plate, blue
1 2x2 45 deg slope, black with phone pad printing.
Out of 1743 pieces that's not too shabby, but still...
Of course, it was easy enough to make up the missing bits from my collection
but reading all the other replies today, perhaps I should be giving Lego a call
to claim the pieces I paid for?
Then again it had 2 extra 6L axles, 2 bushings, 7 1x1 plates, a control stick,
a pneumatic 't' joint, and a couple technic stud pins left over.. maybe that's
what made up the weight.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes. But only once. :)

I guess you should call Lego then ... judging from the other responses here, they are very efficient at getting you the missing parts speedily. Half of the reason for asking was so that I would know how well Lego responded to these things. I'm (...) (25 years ago, 15-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)
