Steve Bliss skrev i meddelandet ...

I'd generally agree with Tim that part authors aren't necessarily members
of ldraw.org.  But some people are both.  And I'd think that regular part
authors are pretty likely to be members of ldraw.org.

I would count any part author as _in_ ldraw.org, especially if you are
considered _in_ just by voting on a part release...

And what about people who write LDraw-related software?  Are they in or
out?  Hmm....

'Normal' organizations usually include both 'active' and 'passive' members,
i.e. you don't have to work _in_ the organization to be part of it. You can
just support the ideas.

As ldraw.org isn't a 'normal' organization, with actual membership, I don't
think there can be any other definition than yours:

I think the term here is 'self-selection'.  If you think you're in
ldraw.org, you probably are.  If you know you're not in ldraw.org, then you
definitely aren't.

Perhaps there should be an 'inner circle' of people, acknowledged by the
larger community to 'be' ldraw.org, in licensing terms?

(...) I consider myself a member of the "LCAD community" in that I use the ldraw program, Steve's LDAO, and the parts ref on LUGNET. I promote the ldraw.org web site, keep intending to submit an entry for the MOTM, believe in the open nature of the (...) (24 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Isn't that a self-answering question? ;) Substitute my statement for 'that group' in your statement, and you get: "And who would (everyone who includes themselves in 'the group known as ldraw.org') be?" I guess we'd have to take a roll-call. I (...) (24 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
