Had our budget today. Petrol will now cost about 66p a litre,
which is $1.05. An imperial gallon (4.54 litres)will now cost
$4.80 or so! A US gallon (3.78541 litres) will now cost GBP2.50,
or $4.02!!
Car tax to be reduced on small cars by 33%. 1.1 litre engine
is the cut-off. My car is 1.3 litre engine. So, I must now
spend more money getting to work, and it will be a year before
I see the benefit of 1% less income tax. (to be 22% from April
2000.....) And everything else they have taken away........
