Well, OK, I was being a little flippant, but my argument boils down to
this:

It WAS a successful privatization. UT food service SHOULD be
de-monopolized, and then maybe it would be viewed as a success by the
non-customers (of the privatization) that have to buy their food there,
too, as well as by the greedy bastard government officials who are
happily sticking it to the UT students.

But if you go around calling it an "unsuccessful" privatization, you're
as declued as the media. You seem relatively bright, so you're not going
to do that any more, are you?

(...) The media isn't as clueless as you might think. Both of my parents have been in the (print) media at times (my mother is now), and they (and I) know a lot of stuff about things that they CAN'T print in the newspaper. Note that I do agree (...) (...) I can't agree with this. Privatization does not work when profit should not be the ultimate goal. Consider Aramark. Aramark took over the dining services at UT last year. They have indeed done wonders to improve the profitability of the dining (...) (25 years ago, 9-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
