  LEGO Explore and independent toy sellers
 
I came across a 2-page piece in the June 2002 issue of "Specialty Toys & Gifts." It's by Carrie Casaceli, who's spokeswoman for the Americas panel of LLI (the LEGO Learning Institute). The available range is much more extensive today, but still not quite complete. The menus have been fixed up. Still no intelli-trains even though the Trains submenu has a "NEW!" tag affixed. A whole stack of Explore sets are now listed at Shop At Home. There are some extra sets not listed on the info pages and some of those on the info pages are not yet up at SAH. Just got this tonight, overall I'm impressed. Seen some stuff that I've never saw in regular DUPLO®, such as... I was at Target yesterday and they had the sets, some had the duplo logo, others of the same set did not have the duplo logo on it. But they did not have the Explore logo on it (...) I was at Wal-Mart today and they had a few more of the Explore sets out. Bob the Builder seems to be continuing in the Explore line. They had $5.00 sets with 9 pieces, each featuring a character and an activity. I saw: Wallpapering Wendy #3278 Busy (...) (22 years ago, 25-May-02, to lugnet.duplo)

LEGO Explorer still contains sets with DUPLO blocks, however, Explorer does also contain some different types of toddler and baby toys. (...) I think that's a big part of the problem for Lego, there is a big second hand market for Duplo for precisely those reasons: It's very expensive new (significantly cheaper of late but still expensive overall), and once the kids grow out of it (...) Can anyone else confirm this story? My 19 month old daughter loves her Duplo bricks. She often gets frustrated with other toys and figures because they don't fit together! It has just been annonced on the Danish News, that Lego has stopped making DUPLO. A new concept for the 2-6 year old children, Explorer, will be introduced this autumn. No more DUPLO?!? Hi all, I just acquired set 2756 via eBay, and to my big surprise it turned out to be in Maersk blue (color matching completely my Maersk sets). As a companion to the DUPLO Printed Brick Database here on LUGNET ((URL) I've created a Promo Brick Database based on the bricks that I currently have in my collection.   Looking for a part ID number: 24x24 baseplate
 
I'm working on some Duplo parts for ldraw, and I can't find an ID number on any of my 4 Duplo 24x24 baseplates. I'm wondering if some of them *do* have the numbers printed on them. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could find this number. It's (...) (22 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.duplo)

(...) Nope, not good news here. The original device worked flawlessly (not counting "prodding fingers from wee ones" error) for at least 20 hours worth of show time and eventually broke a flex shaft. Well friends, I'm back in the fold. Much has changed since last I parted ways, I now work for CSX as a freight conductor (graduated third out of a class of 14) and have moved into my own place.
