Well that probally had to do with the sets that many, many people have, such
as Star Wars. If you look at the starwars sets you see that it is very
cluttered and takes a while to load for those sets due to all the names. It
could also be a strain on the server to display all that info dynamically.
So Todd probally decided more people would rather have the page load faster
and not have the comments and who owns this set stuff. That way there is
also less stress on the server.
Personally, I liked reading people's comments so maybe should those should
stay on the main set page. Even better would be to use cookies where
everyone could set their own preferences (like for the news filter), but
that sounds like work, an no one likes work!

| this is the second post i've seen about this so i decided to take a look and i have to say, although i LOOOOOVE the lugnet site i agree that the guide is now a lot less useful. i used it primarily to see others comments see who was selling sets, and (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)
