I would like to run a train with the Mindstorms RCX. I seem to remember reading about someone applying 9 volts to the rails, picking that power up through the powered bogey (sp?) to run the RCX onboard the train, and using one of the motor outputs (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.trains)

Not to be argumentative but, I think it is a little more difficult than you are stating. I think someone had already mentioned, the plastic is quite warm, (hot even) when it comes out of the mold. I've been following this group for a while, and I'd like to add my 3.059 cents worth (the exchange rate at the moment's a pain). I agree. Anything that actually succeeds will have to be based on a sound business model. TLG needs to make money and see a positive creative outcome as a result. Just a couple of points. That 20K order we had assembled was for less than 20 different parts in total, although across several colors.   H8 tools problems on Linux
 
Hi all! The H8 tools on Linux won't work for me - it's Linux 5.2 and the C compiler complains about "null char when parsing input" for anything else than a comment... I was recently surprised to see that LEGO now has keyword initiated banners on Alta Vista. This is the first time I have seen the Lego Group doing this. I noticed at least three different banners. I agree, the shots on Outer Rim are PROTOTYPES. Sets are missing printed pieces that the rebelscum shots (from a final catalog/manuals) have, the technic are in different colors, missing specialized pieces and rubber bands. I think the Falcon (...) (27 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

What they should do is not allow trivial spare parts orders, that would run them into the ground. They should allow true bulk orders, of BOX quantities (like the boxes the modelers and MIT get). They could set a reasonable market price for these (...) (27 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)
