The grey base plate is set number "628 Extra large gray baseplate". I don't have one in front of me, but I believe it's 48x48 studs or something like that. 627 and 626 are smaller ones (maybe 32x32) in green and blue. They are in the Lego catalog at (...) Hmmm, Let's see, I have sets 148 (Central Train Station) and 149 (Shell Refinery). They both came out in 1975, and both have the green baseplates with the tubes underneath. That would place the conversion date prior to 1975. I also have a 1970 US (...) (25 years ago, 24-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

I´ve got the instructions of set #1601 from 1976, a rather big set, but I never heard about before. Neither it is mentioned in any german catalogs of this time nor could I find a picture or other information on the net. Maybe it is a promotional set (...) It's called the Brickvac (set #1666... hmmmm). And it may not work great, but it does work. Most importantly, it's a lot of fun and makes the task of picking up the pieces silly and entertaining. The set came with a fair amount of okayish elements (...) (25 years ago, 24-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Whoops, I forgot the most important part - I need 44 studs worth of 1xN white tiles to finish off the door area. 2 1x8s and a 1x6 for the top and bottom would work the best for rigidity, but if I get tons of offers of 1x4s, I'll go with them (...)
