I think if you root around in this very group you'll find a post or two
from Todd on the topic of bid frequency which I think seems to suggest
that the most bidding traffic happens on Tuesdays based on his analysis
of some of the auctions he ran.
Either that or it's a false memory based on a conversation we had at
some point.
I realize that's not quite the same thing as when an auction should end.
But of course I am from the school that says it should end when people
stop bidding, not at a fixed time. THAT is a topic about which a LOT has
been said here, it's worth reviewing before reopening that particular
debate.

| Is there any theory on when an auction should end. In terms of hour of day and/or day of week? I've placed counters on some of my ebay pages to monitor the hit rate distribution. Based on this, right now, I tend to avoid weekends and try to have it (...) (25 years ago, 24-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.theory)
