1. Does the "deck gun" rotate?

Yes, it rotates and elevates.  Too bad LEGO doesn't make a hinge that
depresses as well, as it wouldn't hurt to be able to depress a few degrees
to handle car and trash fires.

2. The wheels at the back look like they should be a little further • back...
or perhaps a double set?

No, they're a single set, but I'll play around with moving the rear wheels
back a bit.  I pass an old engine like this each day on my way to work and
relied on memory as I built my version.  Perhaps I'll take a closer look at
it today.  I did try the larger tires (which is why the rear fender assembly
is placed long end back) but they made the engine sit too high off the
ground.

(...) back... (...) at (...) I checked it out this morning and the rear wheels are pretty much centered with the rear hosebed / equipment box area. The engine looks "off" because the tires are just too small. It's a pity there isn't either a (...) (25 years ago, 24-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)
