Huw, Very nice work! I love the nose extension. Very characteristic. The 1x4 light brick could be used if the 1x4 quarter round green bricks are used instead of the green 1x1x1.3 with tab. Since the 1x4's don't have the tab, maybe that 1x4 light (...) (25 years ago, 18-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Thanks for the close-up pictures. I thought (incorrectly) that you had used some black "doors" from the castle or ninja sets or something and had mounted the black arches to those doors. As we both agree to how rare it is, the seller would not have just had one lying around and misread the instructions. The seller even (...) (...) Hi Dave, a blue motor housing with black base, that means a very old motor like from sets 100, 102, 112, 113 from 1966 - 1968. So it's definitely a 4.5 Volt motor. Although I am not really in SoCal, I am not as far as the rest of the train guys from the BayLTC. Hi Jon, The red bogie plates are one reason why the 7750 is so valuable, they appeared in no other set and as far as I know were never available as a spare part. The other rare pieces are the 1x1x2 black windows and red quarter circle macaroni (...) (25 years ago, 16-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Up until recently it was believed that 7740 was the only set that contained these 2x1x2 classic windows in grey but I've found one other set that contained one such window, Windmill set 352 from 1972. Actually, one new train car and one rebuild. The first is a rebuild of my bay window caboose that I posted pics of a few months ago. Check the scans of various sets around the same time period as 7745 - you will see that some of the wheelsets have a red axle on the black wheels. I have no idea why TLC would do such a thing, but they've obviously always had colorblind set (...) (25 years ago, 13-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Hey, that set looks like it has alot of inverted black roof pieces. I never noticed those in the S@H brochure. In the brochure it looks like it is flat. Are those 2x2 and 1x2 inverted black slopes? You are right, it looks like there are alot of (...) (25 years ago, 12-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

FYI, I just called S@H, they said that they have "plenty" of 6451 in stock. It's a mighty expensive way to get 2 yellow 2x2 inv corners, but there are other nice pieces in the set - it looks like the boat has 2 1x16 yellow bricks. (...) -- | Tom (...) Does anybody know what other sets include the inverted double sloped corner? Lugnet part ref calls it "3676 Slope Brick 45 2 x 2 Inverted Double Convex" (URL) trying to build duplicates of the 4536 Blue Hopper Car. The part is used in step 8 of the (...) Well, okay, I guess I assumed we were talking about standard gauge, seeing as how LEGO gauge is even *wider* to scale than standard gauge, so how could you possibly model NG in minifig scale using LEGO track.
