1st point: I may get lambasted, but I don't think the model is too bad...
besides which, Lucas accepted most of the crap Hasbro came up with, including
the poorly designed "expanded universe" series. He's also allowed numerous
books to be made that drags the name of Star Wars through the mud.
Furthermore, he approved of Jar Jar... <G> (I don't mind Jar Jar, but I
thought I'd throw that in for all of you that do.)
2nd point: If you choose to boycott the model, that's your choice. I
personally plan on picking one up as soon as it becomes available in my area.
Of course, I am a SW fanatic, and probably would buy anything with the SW label
on it (including items from the "poorly designed expanded universe series" and
the "Star Wars name dragging-through-mud books... ;)
Also, I don't want to do anything that might turn Lego away from producing SW
sets (or turn Lucas away from allowing Lego to produce SW sets.) I'd rather
see more bad SW Lego models than none at all. Those of you who managed to make
SW MOCS prior to the SW sets being released might not care, but all I had
before the SW sets were piles and piles of yellow bricks and castle parts. I
just couldn't get into the space sets...
-Bryan (H that is...)
SW Lego model supporter to the bitter end! :)

| (...) label (...) make (...) I agree completely. It's been said before and I'll say it again, if TLG made the Falcon to exact scale it would be horrifically expensive and probably too many pieces for the 8-12 age group. They did the best they could (...) (25 years ago, 17-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

| (...) Umm. Hasbro didn't design most of the "expanded universe" line- LucasFilm/ILM did. They're based on concept sketches for various things from the movie. eric (25 years ago, 17-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)
