Another note on soldering.. Heat control is VERY important.. Not so much being able to adjust the heat, as having a temperature-controlled iron. The "cheaper" irons get hotter or colder with the load (speed of soldering) as well as the room (...) (27 years ago, 19-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Soldering (fwd)

Often novices miss the single most fundamental point about soldering: you don't use the iron to melt the solder (99% of the time) -- you heat the component leads and let them melt the solder. To initially transfer heat effectively to the leads, a (...) (27 years ago, 18-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Vector 2x giving me lots of trouble...

Well, I seemed to have narrowed down the problem I was having with the Vector2x compass. It was functioning fine... All I had to do was write clean code that called comp_disable(1) at the end. When my code wasn't doing that, the compass IRQ routines (...) (27 years ago, 17-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
