Hi all,
I'm about to build a few handyboards, and I have a few questions.
1. I don't have convenient access to an o'scope so I'm hoping to get
by without one. I am in the market for a new DMM (my birthday's
coming up :->), and I've located one that looks like it might be
useful, a Wavetek (formerly Beckman Ind.) DM27XT ($115 at Circuit
Specialists). Besides all the usual stuff, it has frequency
measurement to 20MHz, which looks like it would be useful for most of
the testing steps where a 'scope is recommended. Anyone have any
comments about this idea or this particular device?
2. I've tracked down almost all the hard-to-get parts *except* the IR
demodulators, for which I've looked just about everywhere. I still
have one more place to hear from, but I'm pretty pessimistic at this
point. Any ideas where I can get my hands on five of them? I'm also
looking for a supplier of SN75441 motor drivers, since they seem
preferable to the L293Ds, but this is less of a rush since I have
several pairs of various drivers already. And if anyone wants to know
where I located the other items, just let me know.
3. I have three full sets of 6.270 (Rev. 2.21) PC Boards which I would
like (in order of preference) to trade, sell or donate to a worthy
cause. If you're interested, contact me with your offer/story.
Thanks very much for any help,
Ken B.
