Well, I finally got my Vector2X compass module running this evening. Looks
great- thanks Tom Brusehaver for your nice code- it works well! Ok- call me
simple, but I'm tickled pink :) Its cool to watch it spit out the headings.
Anyway, on a related note- I was playing around with the compass and I
noticed that if I turned it sideways (so the PC board is facing out toward
the side instead of toward the bottom) it seems measure tilt pretty well.
I tried to see if it drifts at all while its rotated around its vertical
axis but I can't tell precisely as I'm just hand-holding the unit and
watching the display. Mine is also the gimballed unit so the coils flop
around a little while I'm holding it. But it seems to stay steady as it
rotates. There is a definate large change though when its tilted (rotated
around its horizontal axis). Seems like a useful phenomenon.
